Adventures?
Soooooo
I went with a friend from church (James) to the gun range to try a couple of new rifles that he had just purchased. Since we were shooting long range targets, we didn't want to walk through snow a foot deep. So James tells me that there is a path (hidden under the snow) that allows us to drive right up to the targets. I'm thing that it would be nice, but probably not the smartest move considering the only other guys there were on their way out, and we were in the middle of nowhere. But he convinced me (because it doesn't take much to encourage me to do silly silly things such as this!)
so we did it and we got stuck, REAL bad.
Like up to my bumper.
So we dug for an hour or two, and finally got out but forwards. we tried to get out of this field a different way but got stuck again!! So then we went a shack and tried break to get to a phone, but couldn't since the door had a padlock and the windows were covered with expanded metal. But we did find a freezer full of food and BBQ, so we left some money and ate some hot dogs. we also found some shovels by the shack that we borrowed (and James went gorilla on his and broke it....)So after a bit of digging we got unstuck and headed back to we were stuck in the first place and shovelled it nice and flat, then laid out a bunch of spruce branches for traction and gave her gas!
And then we were out!!
Just as I get back on to the road I see my dad coming to see if we were alright. I was only 3.5 hours late for our dinner appointment! I figured that we were stuck for about4.5 hours altogether.
